The University of South Dakota volleyball team (4-18, 0-8 NCC) will undertake its final road trip of the 2006 season with a pair of North Central Conference matches in the state of Minnesota.
The Coyotes will be in Mankato, MN on Friday, Oct. 20 for a meeting with Minnesota State (14-9, 4-4 NCC). USD will then travel to St. Cloud, MN for a 4 p.m. start against St. Cloud State (7-16, 0-6 NCC) on Saturday, Oct. 21.
While the Coyotes have squared off against the Mavericks once this season – a 3-0 loss in the DakotaDome on Oct. 6 – they will be taking on the Huskies for this first time this year. USD owns a 4-3 record against Minnesota State under head coach Brian Lamppa and are 3-3 against St. Cloud State in that same time.
South Dakota will get a breather this week after facing a pair of nationally-ranked opponents last week. Though USD did not win either match, they did force #20, Nebraska-Omaha, to four games on Tuesday night before extending #5, Minnesota-Duluth, to five on Saturday. It was only the third time this season that the Bulldogs were forced to go to a fifth game.
