The first was a preliminary to the A and B matches against Alcester/Hudson where they prevailed 25-11, 25-8 for a 2-0 win.
Freshman coach Chris Doty was happy about the team's performance.

"The girls played their best match so far this season," she said. "They did everything well."
Indivdual stats: Sierra Allen – 3 aces, 2 kills, and 4 digs; Jenny Bye – 3 aces, 1 kill, 2 digs; Ashley Ouellette – 1 kill; Michelle Blythe and Molly LeCates – 1 assist each.
Then on Saturday, Sept. 23, the C team was entered in the Dakota Valley Freshman Invitational Tournament where they placed second with a 2-1 record, defeating DV and EP/J and losing to Harrisburg in the championship.
Match #1: 25-20, 25-6 Tanagers over Panthers.
"The team played great volleyball. They worked very well together and got the win as a result of their teamwork," said coach Doty.
Individual stats: Allen – 9 aces, 3 digs; Ouellette – 5 aces, 4 kills, 3 digs, 3 blocks; Jenny Bye – 5 Ks; Dana Hannahs – 3 Ds; Blythe – 2 SA; LeCates – 3 SA.
Match #2: 25-19, 26-24 Tanagers over Huskies.
"This was an important win for the girls. They fought hard and played great to get this victory," said the coach.
Stats: Allen – 3 A, 7 K, 2 B; LeCates – 3 A, 3 SA; Ouelette – 3 K, 2 B; Blythe – 2 SA; Hannahs – 9 D; Bye – 7 D.
Match #3: 14-25, 25-17, 11-15 Tanager loss to Tigers.
"The girls were a little disappointed with the second place finish, but they played a great tournament," said coach Doty.
Stats: Ouellette – 3 A, 7 K, 2 B; Bye – 1 A; Allen – 10 K, 8 D, 5 B; LeCates – 4 SA, 7 D; Blythe – 5 SA; Hannahs – 6 D.
The freshman team's season record stands at six wins and four losses.
