Howie Gamber celebrates classic country at Gayville

Gayville Hall presents "A Celebration of Classic Country," starring Howie Gamber, John and Susan McNeill, Owen DeJong, and Nick Schwebach, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, in Gayville.

Gamber, of Huron, started his career in rock-and-roll in the late 1950s but soon gravitated to the sound of steel guitar and country. He has been a legend in the region ever since. He returns to Gayville to collaborate with the regular stars of the hall's country music tributes.

The McNeills, of Springfield, are Gayville Hall's musical hosts. Schwebach and DeJong, of rural Wakonda, are lead guitarist and fiddler in the band Poker Alice and have performed in Gayville Hall's tributes to Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and others with the McNeills.

Gayville Hall is at 502 Washington Street in Gayville. Admission is $10 at the door or $12.50 for a reserved seat. Call 605-267-2859.
