Cool day and hot scores
Twenty-five golfers turned out on a cool, but pleasant day at The Bluffs Oct. 24. Everyone played from the red tee boxes. In the 80 plus division Vern Holter and Van Pierce took first with a 38. In at second were Quentin Oleson and Maurice Erickson at 41. In the two-man division, the winners were Ross King and Louie Fostvedt at 33. Second at 38 were Max Anderson and Dave Zimmer. Taking third were Elmer Mount and Dick Kellog with 39. Fourth place went to Ken Beringer and Cleland Cook with a 39. In the three-man division Turk Pilker, Gene Iverson and Guy Button won with a 32. In their group five birdies were made. Guy Button sank a 15-foot and a 14-foot putt while Turk Pilker made a 37-foot and a 40-foot putt. Their teammate, Gene Iverson, made a 35-foot birdie putt on #11. In second place in this division, Dave Raabe, Jim Grabowski and Ray Lynn took second with a 36. Maurice Erickson chipped in a 45-footer on #11. Next week's play will be at 1 p.m.
