The first game was extremely competitive all the way through as neither team had a lead larger than three points until the host Huskies ripped off a 7-1 run late in the game to take a 26-20 lead. SCSU then withstood a Coyote comeback to escape with the 30-28 win in the first.
The second game was similar to the first with the largest lead enjoyed at any point by either school being St. Cloud State's 23-18 advantage. Once again, USD rallied and eventually retook the lead at 28-27. However, the Huskies rolled off three straight kills down the stretch and earned the come-from-behind victory to take a 2-0 lead. SCSU jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the third and final game and never looked back to close out the match.
The Coyotes will return to the DakotaDome for a four-match homestand to conclude the 2006 season on Friday, Oct. 27, when they host Minnesota-Crookston at 7 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
