The sale runs Friday, Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Hardcover and paperback books, magazines and other materials retired from the library's collection and donated to the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library are specially priced for the sale. Items sell for three-for-a-$1, 50 cents or 75 cents each and customers can fill a grocery bag or copier paper box for $5 with items of their choice.
"We have a huge selection of books for this sale. Our storage area is full. This year, we have a number of children's books and a lots of non-fiction books," according to Librarian Jane Larson.
The Used Book Sale is the biggest event sponsored by the Friends of the Vermillion Public Library. The sale supports programs like the Summer Reading Program, the ESA Giving Tree, the annual Literary Luncheon and
special equipment purchases.
