Froke, Pearson receive September student honors
Krista Froke and Andrew Pearson were selected as the September Students of the Month at Vermillion High School. These seniors were nominated by faculty members for their leadership in classroom and extra-curricular activities.

They will each receive a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust in Vermillion.

Froke's "concern for others is very genuine and I appreciate all of her efforts," as related by her faculty endorsement. Among her many activities are basketball, track, student council, Natural Helpers, freshman mentor, and senior class vice-president.

She plans to attend the University of Minnesota to major in cell biology and minor in chemistry and history. Her parents are Mark and Kathy Froke.

Pearson "has been a great help to the technology department spending many hours of his own time running cable in all the school buildings," according to the faculty member. He has been involved with student council, football, church choir, basketball and Boys State.

South Dakota State University is his intended college with a desire to major in wildlife and fisheries sciences. His parents are Keith and Sheila Pearson.
