Entering his sixth year at the Tanager helm, Coach Jason Huska and assistant coaches Jon Reuvers and Jon Brooks are looking for an improvement over last season's 9-9 record.
The loss of their leading scorer – Andrew Pier – and other seniors Kyle Brunick and Chonka Wilch, all to graduation, will be sorely missed. However, this year's squad is senior and junior dominated with lots of playing experience.
Evaluating the strengths for the upcoming season, Coach Huska stated, "Quickness will be a strength. We have good speed and perimeter shooting with this group. We have some good shooting guards – Jordan Boots, Broc Gauer, Jeff Donnelly and Ryan Powell.
"To be successful we must overcome our size disadvantage and rebound at both ends of the court. We also must shoot well from the perimeter. Our quickness should enable us to cause turnovers. Our schedule will be tough so our record may not indicate the type of team we are or can be. Our goal is to be competitive in every game."
