Tanager volleyball teams lose vs Dakota Valley

On Tuesday, Oct.19, the Tanagers volleyball teams fell on hard times in two of three matches against Dakota Valley. "Unforced errors ruled this day. The Panther's 80 percent serving killed us whenever we started to get on track," said coach Lennie Billberg.

Varsity score: 16-25, 17-25, 24-26.

Individual stats: Alicia Brown accounted for 4 kills, 7 digs, and 2 aces. Also leading the way offensively was Kinsey Weydert who produced 12 set assists; Krista Froke – 7 K; Kayla Gayle – 3 K; and Kristina Blythe – 6 D.

JV score: 20-25, 25-21, 12 -15.

Significant individual"B" team stats were: Rachel Odens – 7 K, 5 D, 4 B, and 5 aces; Justine Sorensen – 6 K and 3 B; Sara Kjose – 19 assists; Alexa Walker – 7 K; Hannah Korkuska – 12 D; Stacey Bottolfson – 8 D.

Coach Lori Jerred's comments: "This was one of our best matches this season. We played well against a very tough DV team. Rachcel had a great night with her 7 kills, and 15 for 15 serves including 5 aces. Also, Hannah had a great defensive game."

The C team won 2-1.

Freshman score: 23-25, 25-22, 15-9. Individual stats: Ashley Ouellette – 2 aces, 6 K and 4 D; Sierra Allen – 7 K, 7 D and 4 aces; Molly LeCates – 4 SA; Michelle Blythe – 5 SA; Jenny Bye – 4 K, 4 D and 2 aces; and Janine Gauert – 9 D.
