The Vermillion High School Pride of Vermillion Marching Band recently completed its 2006 season with the Apple Polishing Concert. The 62-member band was led by John Alpers and this season's drum majors, Lindsay Morecraft and Amanda Granaas.
The band received first place in Class A at the Blue and White Days parade in Mitchell, second place in Class A at the Dakota Days parade in Vermillion, and eighth place in Class 2-A at the Quad State Field Marching competition in Vermillion. The band was also honored to march in the Yellow Ribbon Parade in Yankton, welcoming home the C Battalion of the 147 Infantry.
