Nearly 200 celebrate Thanksgiving
Community Thanksgiving Day was celebrated at the National Guard Armory on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, serving from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Approximately 175 people went through the serving line and enjoyed a holiday meal of turkey and all the trimmings.

Hy-Vee catered the meal with the assistance of women from the churches who made pies, and helped with the serving of the meal.

Decorations for the tables were made by the Jolley Juniors and Juniorettes 4-H Club and Priscilla Pilgrim.

Foreign students, families from Vermillion, Nebraska and surrounding communities came together to give thanks for food and fellowship.

Pastor Joe Villalobos, Faith Fellowship, organizes the event sponsored by the Ministerial Association of the Churches of Vermillion.

Mary Johnson, event coordinator, states that we are truly blessed to have so many people caring about their fellowmen, and giving of themselves exemplifies the true meaning and spirit of the holiday season.

Thank you, Vermillion, for being a caring community.
