USD announces new online undergraduate certificate

The School of Medicine Division of Health Sciences Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies at The University of South Dakota is pleased to announce a new online undergraduate certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies.��������

"This is an exciting opportunity for our department to extend our tradition of science-based addiction education beyond the four walls of the university and into previously unservable regions.

"This online certificate program is a conduit for a wide range of professionals to gain the education necessary to obtain the professional credential they need to serve people who have been affected by substance abuse or addiction," said Dona Kennealley, chairperson for the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies department at USD.�

This innovative 27 credit hour undergraduate certificate in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies prepares addiction professionals to meet the academic requirements for state alcohol/drug certification at Level II and Level III. The program focuses on science-based addiction education enabling professionals to provide the highest quality addiction counseling to individuals dealing with substance abuse or addiction.
