Some highlights for the Tanagers were: A good start on the vault with scores in the high 7's and low 8's. They also had excellent performances on the balance beam. Dykstra and Upward tied for fourth with scores of 8.25, and Amber Walker for her first varsity effort scored 7.40 for a sixth place.
"The Tanagers were without the services of Ariel Hofman who suffered an injury, two weeks ago, to her achilles tendon," stated Coach Mark Upward. "Also, the meet was interesting as the Lincoln gymnastics room was used for half the meet (the uneven bars and floor exercise), while the beam and vault were held in the gym. It was the first meet in all my years of coaching where I competed head to head with the other team and never saw one routine of the opposing school," He said.
