Youth awarded for patriotism
The American Chairman of the Women's Auxiliary to Clay Post #3061 Dorothy Lane reports the following winners in the Patriot's Pen essay contest:

Nicole R. Schroder, Wakonda School, daughter of Mary Schroder of Yankton; Roxanne Polley, Wakonda School, daughter of Cheryl and Rodney Polley of Wakonda; and Rory Tucker, Vermillion Middle School, daughter of Penny Tucker of Vermillion.

All students received a monetary award. The Get Out the Vote winners were Alexis Logue, daughter of Angie and Tom Logue of Wakonda School; Jorden Jorgensen, son of Loretta and Cory Jorgensen of Wakonda School; Hannah Voudry, Jolley School, daughter of Marsha Voudry; Prairie Hanson, Jolley School, daughter of Sarah Hanson; Anna Hammond, St. Agnes School, daughter of Sarah Chadima and Richard Hammond; and Sydney Kronaizl, St. Agnes School, daughter of Sharon Gray and Denis Kronaizl.


All students received a monetary award.

The Voice of Democracy winner sponsored by the Women's Auxiliary and Clay Post #3061 of Vermillion are:

First Place �

Jessica Vollmer, Wakonda School, daughter of Rachelle and Jason Vollmer of Volin.

Second Place �

Emily Ganschow, Wakonda School, daughter of Cindy and Dennis Ganschow of Wakonda.

Third Place �

Patrick Morrison, Wakonda School, son of Sue and Jim Morrison of Wakonda.

All students received a monetary gift.
