Accounting professor at the U receives curriculum grant

Srini Ragothaman, a professor of accounting at the Beacom School of Business of The University of South Dakota, received a grant from PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), the world's largest accounting firm, in a national competition.

"This was a competition for auditing curriculum improvement, and accounting students at the U are the big winners in that they are exposed to cutting edge auditing curriculum material from the real world because of this grant," said Ragothaman, one of the 10 grant winners in the U.S. 51 other applicants received an Honorable Mention award.

This grant will integrate the Alchemy simulation tool developed by PwC into auditing classes at The U and will also address internal control issues mandated by Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. This grant is further evidence that professors at the U truly integrate practice into theory.
