Bonnie Bentaas and Pamela Mullican are the Career Services Employees of the Month for January at The University of South Dakota. Bentaas and Mullican are personnel assistants in the payroll department and ensure that faculty, staff and student employees receive their monthly pay checks on time. Royce Engstrom Ph.D., provost and vice president of academic affairs, presented the awards to Bentaas and Mullican during a reception Jan. 4 with co-workers.
Bentaas and Mullican were nominated by Emery Wasley, assistant director of human resources, because even while the payroll department was understaffed, Bentaas and Mullican handled the workload of a pay cycle change in addition to their regular duties of processing daily transactions and monthly payrolls. Wasley stated in the nomination form that, "both Bonnie and Pam have gone to extraordinary measures to maintain quality customer service."
