Man Killed In Accident Near Vermillion

VERMILLION — A one-vehicle accident west of Vermillion Sunday morning claimed the life of a Vermillion teen.

According to the Clay County Sheriff's Office, an 18-year-old man, who was traveling alone, was in an eastbound vehicle on Highway 50 when the vehicle left the road at the ramp from Highway 50 to the business loop. The vehicle rolled and ended up in the ditch.

Wreckage from the accident was found about 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, but the accident is believed to have occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. that morning.

The victim identity has not been released.

The accident is under investigation.
