The bank's contribution to Vermillion Dakota Senior Meals assist with its nutrition program for senior citizens. The donation to the Vermillion Food Pantry will provide low to moderate income families within Clay County with emergency food supplies for seven to 10 days. The contribution to the Vermillion Area Chamber of Commerce & Development Company will assist efforts in fostering and promoting the retail, commercial and economic development interests of the community and surrounding area.
Paul Preister, branch manager of the bank's Vermillion branch, said the bank was eager to assist these worthy organizations. "We are committed to the communities we serve and we are pleased we could help these three organizations with their important programs," he said.
The Vermillion branch, located at 15 E. Main St., is one of nine Bank West locations in South Dakota.
Bank of the West is committed to supporting nonprofit organizations to help improve the social and economic health of the area it serves. As a result of Bank West's growth into new states and markets in 2005, the bank increased its community support plan to provide $75 billion in loans, investments, contributions and services to lower income individuals and small businesses, companies in lower-income areas and community-based organizations throughout the bank's markets. The new goal extends through 2015.
