- Community Education Spring 2007 Schedule:
- Feb. 8 – Drawing, 5 to 7 p.m., VHS Rm. #13, $5.
- Feb. 10 – Puzzle Party, 1 to 4 p.m., Public Library, free.
- Feb. 20 – Microsoft Word, 6 to 8 p.m., McKusick Tech Rm. #110, $10.
- National Music Museum Brown Bag Lunch Program – 12:05 to 12:55 p.m. at the Arne B. Larson Concert Hall. This event is free and open to the public. Coffee and tea will be available for 50 cents.
- Feb. 9 – Vermillion's Own King of the Guitar, featuring T. Wilson King, South Dakota poet/songwriter, acoustic and bottleneck guitars.
- Feb. 23 – Mexican, Italian, and French Baroque Music, featuring H�lo�se Degrugillier (France), recorder, and Virginia Rolfo (Argentina/Italy), harpsichord. This international duo, who met while performing early music in The Netherlands, are both currently studying in the U.S. Rolfo, a specialist in early keyboard music, is pursuing a master of music degree with a concentration in the history of musical instruments at USD and will perform on the NMM's harpsichords by Giacomo Ridolfi (Italy, ca. 1662-1682) and Jacques Germain (Paris, 1785).
- Clay-Union Electric Member Appreciation Day – 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come and enjoy pancakes courtesy of the Lion's Club, and take part in their mini-home show!
- USD Hockey – 7 p.m. at the Yankton/Alcoa Arena
- Feb. 9 – Iowa State University
- Feb. 10 – Iowa State University.
- SAO Flamingo Flock Fund Raiser – Feb. 9-11. A flock of pink flamingos could be found on your lawn or invading your office! Contact the Student Action Office (SAO) to flock a friend at her/his home or place of work. Free yourself of flock infestation for a donation of your choice ($20 suggested). To keep from being flocked, flock insurance is available for $15 until Feb. 2 from the SAO. Also, override insurance is available for $50 to flock an individual who has already purchased insurance. - Cracker Barrel Session – Feb. 17, 9 to 11 a.m. at the Vermillion EMS/Fire Station on Dakota Street. Come meet Sen. Ben Nesselhuf, Rep. Jamie Boomgarden, and Rep. Eldon Nygaard and discuss issues pertinent to Vermillion and to the state.
- RTEC Career Expo – Thursday, Feb. 22, 1 to 7 p.m. at 1200 West 21st St. in Yankton. Bring a friend, parent, or your whole class and explore local high-tech career opportunities, learn what technical education can do for you, and discover what manufacturers have to offer. Free pizza and pop.
- Senior Center Fun Night – Friday, Feb. 23, 6 to 10 p.m. at the Senior Center. Cost is $12.50 for members and $15 for non-members. Enjoy food, cards, socializing, and some great drawings throughout the evening.
- Big Friend/Little Friend Winter Carnival – Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Vermillion High School. Cost is $2 per person, and children under 6 are free. Enjoy lots of great food, games, and fun, and support the Big Friend/Little Friend program.
