VHS gymnasts lose close dual
On a cold wintery (-21 wind chill) day, the Tanager gymnastics team braved the weather Thursday night and traveled to Wagner for a dual meet. The Tanagers posted an excellent score of 121.9, but fell to the Red Raiders, who had 125.25 points.

The visitors from Vermillion were led by the return of Elle Melby, who competed in three events. "I was really happy to see Elle return to active participation tonight," stated Coach Mark Upward. "Not only were we pleased to have her back, but to see her pick up right where she left off five weeks ago is very positive."

Vermillion participants and their scores and places in each event are listed to the right.

Coach Upward had the following remarks: "We have regionals on Thursday the 8th of February, held at Madison. We have had a very unusual year, with all of our injuries and everything. But, if we continue to regroup and get better as we have been doing lately, I think the girls can do very well at State."
