The building is an historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The arts center is in substantially solid condition but the basement area does need upgrading to allow the teaching of music classes.
The classroom space area needed to be enlarged, needed to have carpet installed, and needed an upgrade in the electrical service to include the installation of a suspended ceiling to accommodate improved lighting.
