Hoyt has been employed at Sanford Vermillion Medical Center since August 2002.

"He has a very strong work ethic and is willing to go far beyond his usual work day whenever we ask him to. His patients respond to him in a positive manner and develop a personal appreciation for his thoroughness and individual attention. In addition to his work at the hospital, he also volunteers his expertise and talents to The University of South Dakota cross country and track teams. He is respected and well liked throughout the whole facility."
These comments were shared in nominations for Hoyt.
"Matt's background as a cross country runner brings a unique perspective to our Physical Therapy Department," said Bob Brockevelt, rehabilitation services manager, Sanford Vermillion Medical Center.
Matt is a graduate of The University of South Dakota with a degree in Physical Therapy. Hoyt is a native of Burlington, WY.
