Rep. Eldon Nygaard (D-Vermillion) and Rep. Jamie Boomgarden (R-Parker) attended an event hosted by the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate last week. There they joined other legislators in an effort to raise money for any charity of their choosing.
Together, Nygaard and Boomgarden raised $385. "There are several worthy charitable organizations in South Dakota, but as representatives of District 17, we feel that our donation could best be used by a local group," Rep. Nygaard said.
Both Nygaard and Boomgarden chose to contribute their money to the Vermillion Community Food Pantry (VCFP) � which is housed in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermillion.
