Brother Benet says that "So many people nowadays are taken up with responsibilities and commitments that they seldom find time for themselves. Always on the go, they may yearn for leisure or else they've forgotten all about it."
He believes that the Benedictines have a system of leisure built into their way of life. It is a manner that he would like to share with everyone, especially those who find there is no time for it in their present lives.
Benet is a monk of Blue Cloud Abbey, Marvin. For over 30 years, he has been the community's Oblate Director and has conducted retreats for oblates of other communities throughout the country.
He is the author of three books. A graduate of St. John's University, Collegeville, MN with a degree in English, Benet is known for his insight, wit and humor.
