W.H. Over Museum reorganizes exhibits
The Friends of the W. H. Over Museum have begun a major reorganization of exhibits and space in the main exhibit gallery. The Exhibits Committee has been busy moving exhibits, renovating and constructing exhibit cases, and rearranging the North Gallery.

Current plans include instituting a Guest Collection Program which will make it possible for individuals, families, and community groups to exhibit their collections in the museum on a short term loan basis.

To date, two guest collections have been displayed – Sharon (Johnson) Andrew's spice container collection and Ray Decker's firefighter's collection. Interested parties should contact the museum at 605-677-5228 to apply for the Guest Collections Program. The Exhibits Committee will process the applications, contact applicants, and schedule the collections which are accepted for exhibit individually in the order that they are received. Guest collections which center around a specific theme that fits a holiday or a specific date or season will be scheduled for exhibit accordingly.

The Friends of the W. H. Over Museum (FOM), a private, non-profit, all-volunteer organization, is totally responsible for operating, maintaining, and financing the W. H. Over Museum, its collections, and its activities and programs. The FOM depends upon contributions, donations, membership dues, grants, interest, and investment dividends for its operating capital and volunteers to help conduct the museum's programs and activities.

Help us continue Dr. William Henry Over's legacy of preserving South Dakota's natural and cultural heritage and passing it on to present and future generations. Individuals and organizations interested in joining the Friends of the W. H. Over Museum, volunteering, and/or making a contribution or donation may contact the museum at 605-677-5228 or stop in.
