Wisdom from the Yellow Ribbon seminar is scheduled
Wisdom From The Yellow Ribbon Seminar will be held March 27 at the Roncalli Main Dining Room, Mt. Marty College Campus at 7 p.m. in Yankton.

This two-and-a-half hour seminar is the first of its kind to be held in South Dakota. Wisdom From The Yellow Ribbon is a new initiative/program developed in South Dakota for Community Education and support regarding the military families in our community. There is no charge for this seminar. No pre-registration necessary. This event is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

Military members and their families face many challenges during mobilizations. While families and service members work through a reintegration process, the community has never before been involved to examine how their understanding and support can help reunite the members with their families and their community.

Civilian individuals and organizations networking closely with the South Dakota National Guard in community wide education efforts is new to South Dakota. We are excited about the possibilities a program such as this can bring to community members as well as the family members of our military. It is our hope to bring this type of educational program to communities state wide.

Wisdom From The Yellow Ribbon is the result of collaboration between members of the South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service/4-H; staff from the South Dakota National Guard Family Readiness Program; South Dakota Operation: Military Kids Committee and Judy Stratman, Judy's Journal, WNAX Radio.

Plan now to attend. For further information call Sharon Guthmiller at the Yankton County Extension Office at 605-665-3387 or LTC Harvey Fitzgerald, South Dakota National Guard at 605-737-6782.
