Young was the only competitor to break 80 on the first day of play on Monday with her 78, and followed that up with an 83 on Tuesday to record a two-day total of 161, which edged runner-up Kaari Espeland of Augustana by one stroke for the medalist honor.
Senior Karrie Plate (Vermillion) tied for 10th overall with her score of 82-86 – 168. Junior Amber Luitjens (Aberdeen) and freshman Candice Bonrud (Burnsville, MN) both tied for 14th with final scores of 171, with Luitjens going 83-88 while Bonrud turned in rounds of 82-89.

Sophomore Kendra Neugebauer (Parkston) shot a 93-86 – 179, though her Tuesday round of 86 helped to keep the Coyotes in second place ahead of Truman State, which finished three strokes back of USD for the event.
Junior Brooke Bonte (Beresford) competed as an individual at the event and finished tied for 20th with her 91-84 – 175.
