Manning "always is willing to mentor, collaborate and cooperate with students and staff. She always has a smile and a positive attitude to make Vermillion High School a better place." She plans to major in pre-vet studies at college.
She has been active in gymnastics, Jazz Choir, Young Democrats, cross country, plays, musicals and National Honor Society. Her parents are David and Kathy Manning.

Rasmussen has an abundance of activities including S.A.D.D., track, Show Choir, swim team, band, and Teachers Assistant. She has received a superior rating in the state piano competition for 11 years. Her intention is to attend either the University of Wyoming or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Rasmussen's "insight as a senior assistant for the English I classes has been invaluable," according to her faculty endorsement. She is the daughter of Randy Rasmussen.
Previous award winners in this academic year were Krista Froke and Andrew Pearson – September, Zach Weiss and Anna Isaacson – October, Annie Roche and Nahuel Telleria – November, A.J. Manning and Ariel Hofman – December, Stephanie Taylor and Ryan Powell – January, Bobby Dykstra and Lindsay Morecraft – February, and Molly Hammond and Brody Stone – March.
