February’s students of the month named

The Vermillion High School February Students of the Month are Bobby Dykstra and Lindsay Morecraft. These seniors were selected for their academic and extra-curricular efforts at VHS. They will each receive a $100 scholarship from First Bank & Trust in Vermillion for their future educational plans.

Dykstra plans to attend Minnesota State-Mankato and will major in automotive engineering. His faculty nomination stated that "Bobby has provided great support for the special education teachers at VHS. He has also been a positive role model for our students in the classroom and in extra-curriculars."

He has had many athletic activities and honors in basketball, football, baseball and track. He has helped in the Resource Room and with children's basketball instruction. His parents are Bob and DeVee Dykstra.

Morecraft has been involved with show choir, jazz band, tennis, Natural Helpers, and Young Democrats. She plans to attend the University of Iowa to double major in anthropology and music.

"Lindsay always comes to class with a positive attitude and she wants to get the most out of each class that she possibly can," according to her endorsement. Her parents are Kim and Bob Morecraft.
