USD competes well at Azusa Pacific Invitational
Kiki Smith of the South Dakota Women's Track and Field Team finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Azusa Pacific Invitational in Azusa, CA, on Friday.

Smith, a senior from Wahpeton, ND, clocked an NCAA Division II provisional mark of 62.04 for fourth place in the 400-meter hurdles. She was the only competitor from USD at the meet.

Smith, a four-time All-American, will run both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles events at the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday.


Amy Lindner, a senior from Sioux Falls, was 11th in the 5,000-meter run in 17:47.18 at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, CA For the Coyote men's team, junior Josh Jeffery of Spearfish, was 11th in the 800-meter run in 1:54.55 at the Mt. Sac Relays.

Several other Coyote student-athletes will perform at the Mt. Sac Relays but were scheduled to compete later on Friday evening.
