A day of family fun supports a worthy cause
|
Organizers of the walk are encouraging families to come out and enjoy this fun-filled event, which will feature a bounce house, tattoos for the kids and free food. The event is sponsored by multiple businesses in Vermillion.
"This event has generated an enormous amounts of support and positive feedback," says event organizer Carolyn Carr. "Our goal is not only to support the needs of local MOPS group, but also to create an event that brings families in the community together. We hope that even those who choose not to participate in the walk will come out and show support for the event. We want this to be an event that allows everyone to participate at whatever level they feel comfortable."
The Great Moms Walk will start at the Clay County Courthouse at 11 a.m. The walk will then proceed down Main Street to Prentis Park. Activities will go through 2 p.m. There will be a Push, Pull or Pedal contest for the best-decorated stroller, wagon or bike. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible.
