ADAS program at the U announces full accreditation through INCASE
The Department of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies (ADAS) at The University of South Dakota proudly announces its recent achievement of full accreditation through the International Coalition for Addiction Studies Education (INCASE). The Department of ADAS is the only INCASE accredited program in the state andregion.

"To achieve this milestone is an accomplishment for the department, the faculty, the support staff and the students. INCASE accreditation shows that the department is providing the highest standards in addiction education across the country and is committed to excellence in student preparation for practice, public policy and leadership," said Dona Kennealley, associate professor and director of the ADAS program.

Achieving INCASE accreditation shows that the Department of ADAS is committed to the establishment, promotion and evaluation of standards of excellence in addiction education. By establishing rigorous standards for the addiction profession, the Department of ADAS is a leader in the preparation of competent substance abuse professionals.

Founded in 1990, INCASE is an association of professionals, programs and students specializing in addiction studies, counselor preparation, prevention, treatment, research and public policy. INCASE provides a global forum for the examination and debate of issues concerning post secondary education in addiction studies, enhances the quality of education in science-based addiction studies, disseminates professional knowledge and shares ideas regarding addiction studies and research in the field of addiction studies.

In addition, through the implementation of accreditation, INCASE determines the highest standards and curriculum for post secondary addiction studies programs through the assessment of those programs.
