The University of South Dakota junior men's golfer Ryan Bak (Beresford) shot his best round of the NCAA Division II Northwest Regional Tournament by carding a two-over-par 73. Bak finished in a tie for 28th place at the event with his three-day score of 77-78-73 228, which was 20 strokes back of medalist Andrew Hedrick of Colorado State-Pueblo.
Bak avoided serious trouble on the front nine for the first time this tournament, making the turn at +3, which was three strokes better than his previous two rounds of the event. The back nine saw Bak play his best golf of the event as three birdies helped offset a pair of bogeys.
A 2005 All-North Central Conference Second Team selection, Bak was the top Coyote finisher in four out of five events this spring.
