The Vermillion Hospital Auxiliary met on Friday, May 4, at the Sanford Care Center Dining Room. The meeting was called to order by President Evelyn Hermanson. The secretary, Donna Schafer, read the minutes, and the treasurer's report was read by Frances Mollet. There were 14 members present.
The auxiliary decided to expand their program. Every other month the meeting will include the residents being in small groups, doing something of interest to them. This program will begin in the fall.
We will also help with Bingo on the second Saturday of the month.
Another change will be our participation as volunteers to rock crying babies, help with children in the waiting room, file records, help as cashiers for the lunch line, and other activities deemed needed.
Of course, we will continue to knit or crochet baby caps, make burp cloths, receiving blankets, and lap robes.
We ended the afternoon enjoying cookies and coffee.
Any one who wishes to become a member of the auxiliary is welcomed. Our dues are one dollar a year and we meet on the first Friday of the month.
