Entertainers sought to perform at ’07 State Fair

Popular entertainer and South Dakota native Sherwin Linton has been a perennial favorite at the State Fair for more then 30 years. For the past 10 years he has hosted and performed three shows daily on the "Centennial Stage" and invited guest performers to be a part of his show. This concept has given hundreds of South Dakota entertainers an opportunity to perform at South Dakota's main event – the State Fair.

Linton and the fair are inviting performers to submit materials for consideration to entertain on the Centennial Stage as part of the Sherwin Linton Show during the fair's five-day run. Amateur and professional entertainers of all styles – including singers, dancers, instrumentalists, comics, and magicians – are invited to submit materials to garner a performance slot on one of these shows.

"Many of the acts who made their first appearance on our stage have gone on to be featured on other stages as well as in the grandstand," said Linton.

Performers wishing to be considered may submit a brief resume – along with a video, DVD or CD – and photo to: Sherwin Linton, Centennial Stage, South Dakota State Fair 890 3rd St. SW, Huron, SD 57350.

Submissions must be received by June 5. Applicants need to be sure to include their name, telephone number, and contact information on all items submitted.
