Free community money management seminar to be held
Increasing interest rates and falling home values, along with the uncertainty of ever rising fuel prices are eating away at paychecks. Would you like to brush up your money and credit management skills to stretch your pay-check a little further?

Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Lutheran Social Services will sponsor a free money management seminar on Thursday, May 24 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the CCCS office located at Trinity Lutheran Church, 816 E. Clark in Vermillion.

The Financial Check-Up seminar provides comprehensive information and serves as the financial readiness (part one) piece of the two part CCCS home buyer education seminar, Home Buyer Express. All participants will be given the tools and knowledge to set financial goals as well as priorities, develop a personal spending plan, identify affordable levels of debt, save to help avoid financial crisis, minimize the cost of credit, maintain credit reports and scores and prevent or handle a credit crisis.


The class, facilitated by Tami Albrecht, a CCCS certified credit counselor, is free and open to the public. Anyone in the Vermillion area is likely to benefit from the class. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.
