"Johnny Cash never sang a song that people didn't like or couldn't understand," said John McNeill, who sings many of the songs in the show. He and his wife Susan, who plays bass and sings, perform regularly at Gayville Hall.
The quartet first performed the tribute after Cash's passing three-and-a-half years ago and have repeated it several times since in Gayville, Vermillion and Okoboji, IA.

Schwebach, who plays lead guitar, and DeJong, on fiddle, are members of the band Poker Alice. They have toured with "Always …Patsy Cline" and Gayville Hall's "Dakota Opry" and Hank Williams shows. They are from rural Wakonda.
