Infant adoption training is offered
The Infant Adoption Training Initiative is a nationwide unified curriculum developed through a grant awarded by the Department of Health and Human Services and will be offered in Vermillion June 19 by Lutheran Social Services of SD.

The Understanding Infant Adoption curriculum is based on the belief that in the situation of an unplanned pregnancy, women should be provided equal information and counseling regarding all of her options in a non-directive, non-coercive manner in order to make an informed decision.

This training session is open to State Health Department professionals (WIC, Better Babies, Bright Start, etc.), school nurses, crisis pregnancy center staff, state Department of Social Services professionals, hospital nurses, Indian Health Service staff, Urban Indian Health staff, youth and adult correctional facility staff, group and residential treatment center health care staff, Planned Parenthood staff, abstinence program staff, health services college students, rape and domestic violence crisis centers staff, police officers/sherrif deputies, probation/parole officers, and corrections officers.
