Memorial Day service planned

VFW Post 3061 will host a Memorial Day Observance in Vermillion on Monday, May 28 at 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held at the Clay County Veterans Memorial at the Clay County Courthouse.

In case of bad weather, the observance will be held inside the courthouse. The master of ceremonies will be VFW Commander Andy Howe and this year's speaker will be Mike Mehlbrech, a veteran of the war in Iraq and the incoming VFW post commander. The observance will also include music and the placing of wreaths to honor our war dead. The public is invited.
