Tanager girls’ softball wins SF Christian doubleheader

The Vermillion Tanager softball club team played a double header on April 17, facing Sioux Falls Christian at the SF Washington Complex, and came away with two dominating victories.

Game #1, was a four inning shortened contest as the Tanagers thrashed SFC 11-0. Chelsea Houska was the winning pitcher giving up no hits, 3 walks, registering 6 Ks in three innings. Brittany Bye went one inning and gave up a hit.

Three players scored 2 runs, each and two drove in 2 runs, while another had 3 RBIs. Donica Crichton went 4 for 5 with 1 run and 1 RBI; Chelsea Houska – 1 for 4, 1 run, 1 RBI; Jenny Bye – 2 for 2, 2 runs; Brittany Bye – 2 for 4, 2 RBIs; Ashley Ouellette – 1 for 3, 3 RBIs; Ali Truhe – 2 for 2, 2 runs, 2 RBIs; Molly LeCates – 2 for 4, 2 runs, 1 RBI; Erica Johnson – 2 for 3, 2 runs; Megan Chickering – 1 for 2, 1 run, 2 RBIs.

Game two was a six inning (called by time constraints), 6-0 win for Jenny Bye, who pitched a steady one hitter, recording 13 Ks.
