Tanager golfers second at Region 2A tournament

In the newly constituted Region 2A tournament, Vermillion has to settle for second place with a 383 score. The tourney was held at the Elk Point Country Club on Monday, May 14.

There were nine teams with 46 individual participants entered.

West Central was the top team with a 372 score, and Dakota Valley was third, with a 396.

Three teams qualified for the state tournament, which will be held at Madison on Monday and Tuesday, May 21-22.

Vermillion's Anna Isaacson was tied with Abby Freehan of Dell Rapids at 84, but lost in a one-hole playoff to place second in the Region.

The other Tanager members were all in the top 20 for the tournament.
