Tanagers have super results at Lennox Invite
On Tuesday, April 17, the Tanager track and field teams met a tough field of five school teams in the Lennox Invitational. Participants were Harrisburg, Lennox, Tri Valley, Vermillion and West Central.

The Tanager girls won their division with 92.5 points; Lennox (79) and West

Central (73.5) placed second and third.


Individual Tanager results in field events were: Kayla Gale – third, and Annie Roche – fifth in high jump. Alicia Brown won the long jump (16' 3").

The 100M dash had Karissa Martin (fourth) and Kayla Munger (fifth). Brown won the 200M dash (28.45) as she led the foursome – Alexa Walker. Hannah Korkuska, Hannah Nehlich-Arobba, and Anna Moos, who finished second, third, fourth, and fifth in that order.

Sarah Day won the 400M dash (1:03.8) while Munger and Sophie Nehlich-Arobba finished third and fifth. Brandi Blue Arm was third in the 1600 M run. Also, Lydia Ford (second) and Emily Renner (fourth) were placers in the 3200M run.

The 4x100M relay team (Martin, Korcuska, Shannon Robinet and Anna Moos) placed third. The foursome of Day, Walker, Roche, and Brown won the 4x200M in 1:50.7 (state qualifier time). The 4x400M was won in 4:1158 by Tanagers (Day, Walker, Roche and Brown). The 4x800M relay team consisting of Renner, Jana Bye, Blue Arm, and Ford placed second. The Sprint Medley had the Vermillion team coming in second – (Munger, Hannah and Sophie Nehlich-Arobba and Bye).

The Tanager boys' team didn't fare too badly either as they placed second (93) behind Lennox (109). A bright spot was Bobby Dykstra's first place win with a school record 6' 7" high jump. Other field event placers were Hunter Wyatt (fifth in the shot put, and third in the discus and Kyle Nemec – fifth in discus.

In the 200M dash, Ryan Powell placed third and Jerrod Freidel was fourth. Powell (53 sec.) and Broc Gauer went first and second in the 400M dash. Gauer won the 800M run (2:06.1) and AJ Manning placed fourth. Manning also placed second in the 1600M run.

Brad Orr placed fourth in the 110M hurdles; and the 300M hurdles found Jeff Donnelly, Michael Oberle and Brad Orr finishing second, third and fifth.

The 4X100M relay team finished first (Ryan Kost, Orr, Justin Moos and Preston Ellenbolt). The 4X200M relay team (Dalton Brand, Freidel, Dan Storm and Greg Anderson) placed second. The 4X400M relay team (Freidel, Gauer, Oberle and Powell) placed first (3:35.8). The Sprint Medley relay team claimed first place ( Anderson, Storm, Brandt and Casey Carlson) time – 3:58.0.
