Three USD track and field relays place at Drake Relays

The South Dakota men's and women's and track and field squads placed three relays on Saturday as the Drake Relays concluded Saturday in Des Moines, IA.

South Dakota's 4×400-meter relay squad finished fifth with a clocking of 3:48.10 which is an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark for nationals. The team included Allie Smith, Muellenberg, Rosalie Brueske (freshman, Woonsocket), and Kiki Smith (senior, Wahpeton, ND).

The Coyote women's 4×100-meter relay clocked a 47.50 to finish sixth in the finals. The squad included Andrene Miller (junior, Manchester, Jamaica), Allison Smith (sophomore, Wahpeton, ND), Lauren Krell (sophomore, Hartford), and Heidi Muellenberg (senior, Redfield).

In addition, the USD women's 4×100-meter shuttle relay squad was seventh with a time of 59.14 but did not advance to the finals. The team included Kiki Smith, Miller, Lindsey House of Lennox, and Mara McGill of Beresford.

For the Coyote men's team, the distance medley relay was fourth with a clocking of 10:05.06 in the College Division race. The team included Josh Jeffery (junior, Spearfish), Gable Andrews (sophomore, Council Bluffs, Iowa), Tyler Wetering (junior, Sioux Falls), and Ben Oberle (sophomore, Vermillion).
