Senator John Thune announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded The University of South Dakota a Rural Health Care Services Outreach grant for $150,000.
"In rural states like South Dakota, access to quality health care can be a challenge," Thune said. "Grants like this are an important investment in rural health care by helping institutions like The University of South Dakota with efforts to research and develop innovative health care delivery systems for rural areas."
The Office of Rural Health Policy's Outreach Grant Program is designed to encourage the development of new health care delivery systems in rural communities that lack essential health care services. The emphasis of this grant program is on service delivery through creative strategies.
