The University of South Dakota softball team concluded the 2007 regular season with a pair of losses in the second and final day of competition at the Microtel Inn and Suites Classic. The Mavericks scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning of the first game, and that proved to be the only scoring in the entire game as they went on to win by a 2-0 margin.
Freshman pitcher Brittany Donohue (St. Paul, MN) tossed the first inning and took the loss for USD, allowing three hits and two runs (both earned) while striking out two. Fellow freshman Jasey Goedeken (Columbus, NE) pitched the final six shutout innings and scattered six hits and two walks with two strikeouts to her credit.
South Dakota took an early 3-0 lead in the regular season finale against UMD by scoring three runs in the top of the third.
