The Lead-Deadwood Golddiggers have continued their dominance in the Class A Championship Tournament. The State A Tournament, with 12 teams and nearly 100 individual tourney participants, was contested at Madison Country Club Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday May 21-22.
The Golddiggers topped the scoring, winning by 45 strokes over second-place finisher West Central, and 98 strokes better than Aberdeen Roncalli. The Tanagers were in fourth with a 400 stroke score.
Abby Feehan (Dell Rapids) was medalist with a score of 159. Tanager scoring was Anna Isaacson (162) – 12th; Chelsea Gauer was in the 26th spot with a 196; Kristen Schwasinger (203); Kelsey Osborne (225); and completing the Tanager contingent, Rachel Odens (235).
The team championship trophy was awarded to Lead-Deadwood as West Central gained the runner-up trophy, while Roncalli and the Tanagers received third-place and fourth-place plaques.
