Annual poetry meeting to be held June 29-30

The South Dakota State Poetry Society's annual meeting is June 29-30 in Gettysburg. Events begin Friday evening with a potluck supper and poetry reading at Carlee Swann (Verna Knott)'s ranch east of Gettysburg.

Saturday registration begins at 9 a.m. at Medicine Rock Caf� on Highway 212. The main feature of the day will be Sy Swann's dramatic presentation as Walt Whitman. Election of board members and officers and adoption of a budget are the main business.

Visitors are welcome, as are people interested in writing, reading, or hearing poetry.
