Fireworks at dam prohibited

The Gavins Point Project of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers is announcing that public discharge of fireworks will not be allowed on Gavins Point Dam over the Fourth of July holiday.

In previous years, the public was permitted to discharge fireworks on the west side of the dam on a designated evening during that time period.

However, due to increased concerns for public safety, the decision to no longer allow fireworks was made.
