Legion Post #1 plays in Lewis & Clark classic
The sixth annual Lewis and Clark Wooden Bat Classic was held June 8-10 involving 15 teams playing at three venues (Hartington, NE, Yankton and Vermillion) with five teams at each locale. This report will cover only Vermillion Post #1 baseball team's, games.

Game #1: Sioux Falls Post #15 East � 8; Vermillion Post #1 � 4.

Zach Weiss lost the time limit six inning stint; errors were a contributing factor as he recorded 9 Ks and 3 walks.

Offensive stats: Weiss � 1 for 2, 1 run, 1 RBI; Reid Meirkort � 2 for 4, 1 run; Kyle Olsen � 1 for 3; Jeff Donnelly � 2 for 3, 1 RBI; Ryan Gilbertson � 1 for 3, 1 run; J.R. Moore � 2 for 2, 1 run.

Season record: 2-1.

Game #2: Omaha Bryan � 9; Post # 1 � 0.

Line totals: Bryan � 9 R, 8 H, 1 E, 3 LOB; Vermillion � 0 R, 1 H, 2 E, 4 LOB.

Olsen pitched the six inning game, registering 6 Ks and 4 BBs. Donnelly had the only hit for Post #1.

Season record: 2-2

Game #3: Norfolk, NE � 11; Post #1 � 3. Brandon Womack was the loser in the six inning game, giving up 8 hits and recording 2 Ks. His team mates had 4 errors.

Offense stats: Weiss � 1 for 1, 1 run; Womack � 1 for 4, 1 run; Cody Taggart � 1 for 2; Eric McPherson � 1 run.

Season record: 2-3.

Game #4: Mitchell � 9; Vermillion � 4.

Line totals: Mitchell � 9 R, 7 H, 2 E, 8 LOB; Vermillion � 4 R, 8 H, 0 E, 7 LOB.

Moore was the losing pitcher, giving up 7 hits and 10 walks, while recording 6 Ks.
