Local youth travel to Brookings for state bowling
This year 35 kids from Vermillion participated in the USBC Youth State Bowling Tournament in Brookings on April 28 and 29. The tournament was six weeks long and kids from all over the state participated. the kids bowl from six to 15 games over the weekend and the ages range from 5 to 18 years old.

Several of the Vermillion youth placed in the tournament. Results are:

Team Event


Division 1 Girls – first place – Madison Styles, Sara Marker, Rory Tucker and Natalie Swanson.

Division 3 Girls – second place – Shannon Robinet, Kayla Styles, Tiffany Moore and Lindsay Robinet.

Division 1 Boys – first place – Christian Wasley, Matthew Moore, Shane Whitman and Joe Swanson.

Division 1 Mixed – third place – Kelia Barta, Alec Barta, Chase Huether and Devon Mines.

Division 2 Mixed – third place – Tom Hagenbuch, Jerod Ceretti, Kayla Styles and Lindsay Robinet.

Doubles

Division 3 Girls – first place – Katie Wasley and Shannon Robinet.

Division 3 Girls – third place – Kayla Styles and Lindsay Robinet.

Division 1 Boys – fifth place – Jacob and Logan Peterson.

Division 2 Mixed – second place – Tiffany and Matthew Moore.

Division 2 Mixed – third place – Shelby Covill and Jerod Ceretti.

Division 4 Mixed – first place – Karl Brewer and Jessica Jurgensen.
